This Project is close to my heart and I am beyond honoured to be apart of it. I remember the devastating news breaking when I was 14 years old, about a young girl taken from her home and had been missing for a week. I remember thinking that could have been anybody, that could have been me. There has been a few different retellings of the Elizabeth Smart Story, but this is the first time she's produced, co written and had a say in telling her story, her way. While her story is horrific, there is a silver lining and that's what makes Elizabeth strong, It was her ability to have hope and strength no matter what. The through line in this film is, even though there are bad people in the world, there are good people too. I am also happy to say that I play one of the nice people in her story. In this scene, I act alongside Skeet Ulrich, Deirdre Lovejoy and Alana Boden who does all do amazing transformations into character.
Here are some behind the scenes photography of the new webseries #ModelLife captured by Ken Thorne.
This idea started in my head years ago. The project is based on the exploitation that I saw happening in the modelling industry. I wrote it all down and performed it as a 1/2 hour one woman show! I played all the characters, even the guys so it was an amazing experience to be able to cast actors to play the parts that only existed as extensions myself. To hear my words spoken through 200 other people during the casting process was surreal.
All the episodes in this series are based on real events that I've personally experienced in the hopes of connecting with young girls aspiring to get into the industry.
There have been documentaries and interviews on the exploitation of young women, I thought it would be interesting to explore it from a female perspective within the context of a webseries.
Push Start is the story of a woman who begins to push herself to start living life on her own terms.
